My company recently announced salary adjustment & increment to be paid in June.
With that, those that are sitting on higher job grade will get automatic salary upgrade backdated to 1/4/10 except for finance & legal.
Meaning - orang finance & legal will only get salary adjustment but not the salary upgrade.
In my case I am at salary grade E2 sitting on E3 position. Senang cakap senior executive memangku jawatan manager. Verbal appt was 1/7/09; official appt 1/10/09. Before the announcement - I was nominated for promotion wef 1/10/10. Maknanya salary upgrade will only happen wef 1/10/10 provided I pass the interview assessment. So memangku selama 15 bulan tanpa extra allowance or gaji.
After the announcement may be lagi teruk sebab finance staff has to finish all the skill group training before boleh dapat salary upgrade although they abolished the assessment. And this training bukan ada every month and subject to your boss's release/approval. Lucky me, I only have 2 more to go. Those yg tak buat lagi - has to go through 5. Which normally would be completed in 2 years. Dah le training budget kena cut - how in the hell are we suppose to complete all 5 within a year is beyond me.
So now, I don't know when will I get my manager's salary! Orang lain senang2 je naik; dah le keje pun senang.
Me and others in finance - keje teruk; nak naik payah. Now ramai orang finance nak keluar finance and buat benda lain. Tapi nak keluar pulak kena dapatkan your boss's clearance. So we are trapped!
Me? I have 5 exec and 22 non-exec reporting to me? Not worth it at all............
My mistake was to accept the company's offer of a lower post......
